My Christmas wish to you

I wanted to share our Christmas card with you that we sent out this year. Warning, this was my first attempt to scan a picture on our printer. I'm not sure about the black line thing behind it, but it's all good.  As I was searching through a million pictures I couldn't find a decent family picture of all of us.  A lot of the time I am the photographer so I'm usually the missing link so I had to be creative.  I found a holiday template I liked on Shutterfly, uploaded my three photos, selected my font and typed a greeting and voila!  They are fast too, the pictures arrived in three days.

I wish you all a Merry Christmas and a healthy, happy New Year!
I'm taking a short break from blogging so I can spend time with my family and friends,
but I will be back soon. Promise!

Simple Friday's: blog makeover

Hello! How's everyone doing?  I hope you all have been well and maintaining
a fairly "stress" free schedule, right!  It has been a long week for me with working
my part time job and getting over a 24 hour flu bug.  I'm feeling so much better and have been
anxious to share my new blog makeover with you. A huge, wonderful "Thank You"
again to Jenn at Munchkin Land Designs for seeing my vision for Our Blue Front Door
and making it come to life. Come on over, take a look and stay for awhile.
I would love to hear from you.

If you are needing some new ideas for your blog or are just getting started, go over and see Jenn

Our Blue Front Door

I have a To Do list going that won't stop and  there's only 9 more days until
Christmas. It's all good though and if I don't get it all done it will be ok.

Simple Friday's- I'm in awe

Happy Friday! I'm glad it's Friday my hubby comes home tonight from sunny
California after being gone all week for work. It's the little things, isn't it?

I wanted to share these beautiful words I found on our chalk board the other day. It touched my heart and I had to take a picture to share . Our church teaches our children a specific virtue every month and this months is generosity. It reads up top "Be generous and Christmas will be a very cool holiday never forget the "real reason" of Christmas Jesus birthday."  A little further down she wrote John 3:16, one of my favorite verses.

Have a great weekend, feeling so blessed today,

Holiday Mantel....love the bright green

Here's a look at my Christmas mantel from last year before I started blogging. This year I
decided to use some new ribbon and brighten things up a bit. I tried to work with what I
had on hand and not spend a fortune on decorations.

Garland is essential on the mantel with two different types of ribbon, pine
cones, and ornament's. I've had the wreath for several years and here's a quick
tip on how to keep the berries red and looking new.

Also used some gold bells throughout the garland, aren't they pretty?

I've reused my shutters to help lighten up the brick and I
added the "S" to complete the look.

Our stockings, I would like to add our names to them
this year or maybe have them embroidered.

How to organize Christmas cards?

O Happy day my friends! Sharing a post I did last year and hope it
sparks some creativity. I pinned this idea on Pinterest awhile ago
and today I am copping it without any guilt at all.

If you follow me on Facebook you might know that I've gone back
to work full time after being home with our girls for 9 years. It was
an answer to prayers and feel so blessed to have found a great job.
I know I haven't posted much this year, mostly due to laziness{admitting the
problem is the first step} right? I have a new perspective on blogging
now and it's called time management! I love blogging too much to give it up.
It will continue to be my hobby. Your not getting rid of me that easy.

What to do with all of the left over Christmas cards, pictures, and letters anyway?
If you are like me, I don't like to throw them away because I like to hoard things.
My pile has grown quite big over the years. I also tried to keep them in the same year.

All you need is a package of book rings and hole punch.
You can use a three ring hole punch if you have one on hand.

You can punch two holes into the cards, but I just did one. It was
so easy to do and I love the idea of flipping through old Christmas
cards and seeing how people have changed over the years.
I'm sentimental like that...

Aren't they the perfect coffee table books?

Have a great day-

Simple Friday: Peel and stick Art

I am super excited today because I am nudging ever so close to 100 followers, and it's Friday!
Yahoo! When I reach 100 I'm having my 1st giveaway and I want to make it
special. Be sure to check back with me and stay tuned for my 1st giveaway....

Here's an easy, peasy DIY Subway art project for you

I bought this last year before I blogged at Walmart.

Used a frame I had on hand, it's a 10 x 13

Peel and stick them onto the frame and you can use the template on the sheet, SCORE!!
It almost fits, I left off Happy Holidays, but I'm OK with it because I say
"Merry Christmas" anyway....I'm all about keeping "Christ" in Christmas

Love it and so easy, and I am all about easy this time of year!

Have a great weekend,
