Simple Friday's: DIY dresser painting and small annoucement

Oh this week has gone by so fast, but I am glad it's Friday and excited to get my Simple

Friday's series back on track.  I wanted to share my upcoming paint project that has been 

calling my name now for several months.  We bought this dresser and the matching night

stand at a local consignment shop for $100.  Both pieces are in excellent condition and with 

a little love and paint they'll look brand new.  

The dresser came with these two mirrors, but I feel like they really 

date the dresser.  I do love the shape of them and might be able

to use them somewhere else.  I'll hang up another mirror over

the dresser, maybe something more modern. 

excuse the mess....we're always moving something around and I think 

my daughter is a lot like her mama :) 

Here's my daughter's night stand I painted a couple months ago, the

details are here. It's holding up well considering her roughness

at times and two coats of polyurethane.  I'm always amazed what

a little paint can do to just about anything.

Need DIY art, shelves, curtains like no one's business

I'm sharing our family room as we know it today and
"yes" it desperately needs color, art, rug, and some TLC.

Ideas for this corner space?
We can't move the TV at all because of DN cable, I'm over it anyway!
This corner needs something, maybe a big clock on the wall with the brick.

This looks like a good space for a memo board or some unique
art. I spend hours and hours here so this space should inspiring
and fun for me. Check out this picture below that I found on Pinterest.

My goals for this rooms are, if I can ever keep my mind on one task:

Add some bold colors to this beige room

Pattern, yes please! 

Art oh art, besides the gallery wall

Curtains to tie in everything, but what color?

Paint the mantel

Would LOVE to paint the brick or glaze it

It's Gray, do you see Green or Blue?

My oh my, you'd thought I'd quit blogging but no, I haven't. This thing called "life"

happens and I'm so thankful to all of my followers for hanging in there with me.

I'm reminded everyday that blogging is a hobby and my creative outlet, but my

  first job is to be a mom, wife, and daughter. So if I have gaps in my posting 

and I will, please understand why.

Since my last post on my lamp makeover, I had some painting done in the house,

and it was much needed. The originally color on the walls was Sherwin Williams 

Canvas Tan, and it was time to lighten things up a bit. 

Now if I could convince hubby to paint the oak

trim white. It would make the walls pop! I'm still working on him!

I had the foyer, front hallway, stairway, and the piano room done because those

areas all flow together with no other walls to separate the space. Had no other choice! 

The color I chose was Benjamin Moore Gray Owl

Piano room, do you see green or more blue in the gray? Hubby swears

he sees green. What do you think?

green in this picture

Another view, I see just a gray color here...it all has to do with the 

lighting and time of the day.

I'm loving the color, but am still getting use to it. Now I need to 

accessorize and get some cool stuff on the walls...

What a change and I am so excited to "lighten things up around here.
